Fujitsu, the market leader in document imaging scanners, today announced new capabilities for its ScanSnap Cloud feature for iX Series models. ScanSnap Cloud, introduced in June 2016, offers seamless integration with popular cloud services and now supports full-text optical character recognition (OCR), and the ability to capture documents from a smartphone camera.
ScanSnap Cloud is a free app that delivers scanned data directly to users’ favorite cloud service without the need for a computer or mobile device. Now it includes OCR capabilities*, enabling users to create searchable PDFs of their scanned documents and send them to their chosen repository. The new smartphone capture functionality allows ScanSnap customers to ‘scan’ important documents on-the-go, or in situations when their iX500 or iX100 is not available. Users will be able to route documents through ScanSnap Cloud to their favorite cloud storage or line of business application. These upgrades heighten the convenience and flexibility of one-button scanning.
With additional integrations to its portfolio including QuickBooks Online and Concur Expense, ScanSnap Cloud empowers small businesses by connecting scanning workflows directly to line of business applications. With the push of a button, customers eliminate multi-step processes to digitize, save and use information.
“ScanSnap’s OCR capability is a favorite among our customers, so we are pleased to be able to bring this added value to our ScanSnap Cloud feature,” said Scott Francis, senior VP of product management, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. “With the rise of mobility and advancements in the clarity of smartphone cameras, we wanted to provide scanning flexibility to our customers, so that they can have peace of mind and access to ScanSnap even if they’re away from their home or office.”
ScanSnap Cloud is now available for all new and current ScanSnap iX Series customers. Customers can access the free ScanSnap Cloud download through www.ScanSnapCloud.com.
